About GenZara

GENZARA PRODUCTIONS is an independent film and television company with a global creative presence, operating between Brisbane (Australia) and Tbilisi (Georgia). We are devoted to creating auteur-driven cinema — bold, emotionally resonant works that combine artistry, purpose, and depth.

Founded by filmmaker ZARA GOODMAN, GenZara serves as both a creative studio and a vessel for her original projects: a space where storytelling, meaning, and craftsmanship converge. Each production is a reflection of Zara’s belief that cinema should not only entertain and captivate but also illuminate and transform, leaving audiences moved and changed by what they see.

GenZara’s works explore the light and shadow of the human spirit, capturing the unbreakable nature of humanity as it confronts darkness and reaches for light. The company’s projects span a range of genres including drama, psychological thriller, historical, fantasy, and biopic, yet all are united by their grounding in realism: real stories, real emotions, real moral questions. Through mythic retellings, allegorical narratives, and deeply personal human stories, GenZara examines the moral and spiritual complexities of life, and themes of transformation, redemption, identity, and resilience. Its guiding belief is that even in the darkest places, light can still be found.

The name “GenZara” holds layered meaning: Gen” signifies both Generation Z and Genesis, a new beginning, a fresh start, and a voice for a generation seeking renewal. “Zara” represents the storyteller herself, the creative mind called to bring these visions to life. Together, they form a symbol of metamorphosis and transformation, reflected in the butterfly, which is the heart of GenZara’s mission.

About Zara

ZARA GOODMAN is an English–Papua New Guinean writer, director, producer, and actress. A storyteller at heart, she founded GENZARA PRODUCTIONS as a means to produce the kinds of stories she longed to tell: stories that explore truth, beauty, and the endurance of the human spirit.

Raised in the culturally rich islands of Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands before settling in Cairns and later Brisbane, Australia, Zara brings a kaleidoscope of cultural influences to her work. Her storytelling is shaped by her Papua New Guinean heritage, with traditions steeped in an intimate connection with land, animals, and spirituality, and her Christian faith, which informs her exploration of light and dark, good and evil, hope and redemption.

Zara holds a Diploma of Creative Arts (Acting) from CQUniversity and a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Drama and Performance) from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Formally trained in Shakespeare, the Meisner and Uta Hagen techniques, and screen performance, she continues to refine her craft. Her acting credits include roles in “This Little Love of Mine” (Jaggi Entertainment), “Kidnapped” (Jaggi Entertainment), “Socially Distant” (13th Street Films), “Apples Never Fall” (Peacock), “Shin Splints” (The General Public Productions), and her own short film POC “Haunted Housemates” (GenZara Productions).

Beyond acting and filmmaking, Zara is a creative polymath: a painter, photographer, singer-songwriter, musician, and upcycled fashion designer. Zara’s art is her vocation - a way of engaging with the world through beauty, honesty, and hope. She believes that stories have the power to awaken, to heal, and to remind humanity that there is light in the darkness.
